Bronze Sculpture ‘La Fée’ by Louis Chalon

This French Art Nouveau bronze sculpture, entitled “La Fée,” or “The Fairy,” by Louis Chalon features a refined nude female figure standing on an open flower with complex with deeply textured roots. Her eyes closed, her physical posturing and facial expression suggest a peaceful state of ecstasy. Though seemingly very grounded, four wings in the shape of orchid petals appear ready to take her aflight. She wears a single orchid petal as a crown.
