Ettore Sottsass’ 1950s Italian Decorative Piece ‘MELA’

Mela” apple bowl was designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1953 for Rinnovel.
Sottsass wasn’t originally italian, he was born on 1917 in Innsbruck, (Austria), but grew up in Milan, (Italy ) where his father worked as an architect. But Ettore Sottsass remains one of the greatest Italian designer of the last half century, who has died in Milan aged 90.
