Earrings Inspired by Van Cleef & Arpels’ Lion Door Knocker Design

Created in the 1960s, these Van Cleef & Arpels lion clip earrings are formed of 18K gold and emeralds. Each is designed as a high-relief lion mask with emerald eyes, and suspending a freely-moving textured ring in its open mouth (earclip findings have been changed). A beloved style from the maison’s 1960s repertoire, these iconic clip earrings were a classic of 60s design.
