Glazed Ceramic Vase by Pierre – Adrien Dalpayrat

A dark earthen example of Dalpayrat’s signature glaze takes center stage in this monumental composition, a remarkable work by French pottery artist Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat. Curling leaves and twisting vines sit raised on the surface of the technicolor, gourd shaped vase, rendered in striated hues identical to the body of the piece to which they are adhered. Certain elements have caused the glaze to accumulate in some areas and shed in others, resulting in streaks and pools of turquoise and gold.
