In Rembrandt Bugatti “Autruche baissant la tête” also known as “An ostrich lowering its head”, an ostrich stands tall on its long, slender legs, and slowly bends its neck downward in a fluid motion. As the ostrich’s beak approaches the water’s surface, it carefully positions itself to take a sip. The beak, specialized for filtering food from the water, dips below the surface, and the bird uses a pumping action with its tongue to draw water in and push it back out, trapping small organisms and particles for nourishment.
