A postmodern carborundum etching on hand made paper by James Coignard. Hand signed in pencil lower right with an annotation of V/XV on the lower left. Published circa 1970s. Geometric and bright forms collaged together created a dynamic composition. Taking inspiration from early 20th century art movements such as Constructivism, this painting makes a modern statement. From a private collection. Dimensions: 27″h x 20.25″w (unframed). In very good vintage condition.  James Coignard (1925-2008 ) is a painter, ceramic artist, sculptor and writer born in 1925 in Tours. He worked in the administration for 4 years. At the age of 23 he discovered the landscapes of the Cote d’Azur, and that helped him take the decision to study at the Decorative Arts School in Nice.
